The Algerian healthcare sector has been undergoing tremendous change and the Healthcare law passing at the Senate proves a willingess to change the system to make it more efficient and sustainable on the long run.
In April 2018, Pitch World Fast organised for the third time a roundtable centered on Pharmaco-economy to discuss further how the industry and government institutions can work together through notably performance contract.
The event saw the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Labour, Employment & Social Security with its Director General Dr. Djaouad Bourkaib and Dr. Mohamed Lamine Ghanem, the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research with the presence of the Director of the Pharmacy Department at the University of Medecine of Algeria Ms. K. Mendi as well as the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform with directors from the ministry such as Ms. Watfa Benayad, M. Ali Bouali or Ms. Badra Benkedadra but also its insitutions such as the INSP (National Institue for Public Health) with M. Lyes Rahal, the PCH (Hospital Central Pharmacy), ANPP (National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products), IPA (Institute Pasteur of Algeria) among others and the Senate with Pr. Louisa Chachoua, the president of the Healthcare committee.
This roundtable gave the opportunity for futher discussion on partnership with a presentation from Ms. Sandrine Baffert,a health economist from CEMKA and more than an hour of debate between the stakeholders.
